Hello again everyone!

Im here today to rave about a foundation that I love. Its my GO TO foundation

I have Combination Skin, which means I get oily on my foreheard, nose, apples of cheek, upper lip and chin. Choosing the correct foundation for my skin type is crucial. I have experimented with quite a few foundations and this by far is the best suited for my skin type.

Product Name: MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE MOUSSE FOUNDATION

Color Correction in MAKEUP ARTISTRY

As a Professional Makeup Artist, it is crucial to know "Color Theory" and "Color Correction". This is where complementary colors are used to cancel the effects of each other.

TIPS:

1. Green helps to offset RED: Covers bright red blemishes

2. Purple helps to counteract YELLOW tones: Helps to counteract yellow tones such as those in Asian skin

3. Yellow counteracts PURPLE tones: Covers dark circles under the eyes

4. Coral helps to boost radiance of the skin: This is the easiest way to fake a glowing fresh face when you're feeling tired and your skin has any unflattering blue-grey tones running throughout it

Loreal Superblendable True Match Foundation - Cocoa C8 | REVIEW

Hey there,

So I decided to purchase the Loreal Superblendable True Match Foundation because I had never tried their foundation before and heard this was to one to try. So I got it in Cocoa (C8) and its basically finished now.

Shade: Cocoa C8

This "c" indicates that this foundation has a "cool" undertone. As far as I know, my undertone is Orange and thats warm, but this ended up matching my none the less.

This foundation is a liquid, it applies smoothly to the face. I use a Flat Top Powder Brush or Kabuki Brush to apply it and blend it into the skin. The coverage is all dependent on how much you apply. IT IS POSSIBLE to get a full coverage look from this foundation

The only CON with this foundation is that is settles into my fine lines on my face. I have never experienced this before until I started using this foundation.

Nonetheless, this is my FAVOURITE liquid foundation so far, as it relates to application, coverage and overall use.

Hope this helped.

BLACK OPAL Beauty at Beauty Buzz

On Friday May 3rd, the beauty expo called Beauty Buzz was held at the Jamaica Pegasus.

There was a WIDE variety of brands on display such as Black Opal, Mango and Lime, Bosley, Kinky Curly, Revlon Nails, Avlon, KeraCare, Big Sexy Hair & more.

I was working in the Black Opal booth as one of the makeup artists. We got the chance to use the new line of Black Opal products called Color Splurge (mainly) & Even True line on the patrons who were at the expo.

The lipsticks in this line are AMAZING! My favourites are the Fantasia Plum & Natural. The Fantasia Plum is a deep plum purple that flatters basically all skin tones. It all depends on how much is applied to the lip. The Natural is a very good brown-tan nude. These lipsticks are not runny nor do they bleed. They have a thick consistency with very high pigmentation. What you see is what you get.

They also had the new line of Color Splurge lip glosses! Very pigmented and they are shimmery, glossy and frost shades.

The eyeshadow duos from the Color Splurge were also very good. The pigmentation was very good and the duo makes it easy for customers to know which shades to put together to achieve a great eyeshadow look. I know a lot of people have problems choosing colors at time so this is a great presentation from Black Opal.

The foundations we used on the clients was the Perfecting Powder Foundations (brown case) which were specially formulated for people with OILY skin. A lot of people are unaware of this line of foundations by Black Opal because they are ONLY familiar with the cream stick. The cream stick is not formulated for the with oily skin. They work best for those with dry to normal skin.

In the existing Black Opal line there are FOUR lines of foundations, True Color Cream Stick Foundation, True Color Liquid Foundation, Perfecting Powder Foundation and True Color Cream to Powder Foundation.

It was REALLY great to work with all who came by our Black Opal booth and got a chance to get a makeover and consultation. Thanks for coming! See you next year!

Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder [Review]

Black Opal's Deluxe Finishing Powder has been my GO TO setting powder over ALL the foundations I have ever tried. Trust me, Ive tried ALOT.

It gives additional coverage to the face and blends out evenly. Its best applied with a fluffy brush such as the Real Techniques Powder Brush. This combo is AMAZING.

The MEDIUM shade can be used to set your under eye highlight (for people with my skin tone - I am Dark 3 in Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and C8 in Loreal Superblendable)

The DARK is the shade I use to set my foundation daily. The DEEP shade can be used to contour.

The undertone of the powders vary. The DARK is rather yellow-orange based and the DEEP is orange to red based.
